Unique Opportunities
Tulane offers many one-of-a-kind learning experiences. From hands-on community engagement through our Center for Public Service to the ability to take graduate-level classes at our renowned Business School, there are many ways to augment and enrich your degree at Tulane.
The university's international programs give students new perspectives, internships afford valuable career-building experience, and Tulane's honors program enables participation in special seminars and innovative courses. The Newcomb Institute offers co-curricular opportunities for women students.
Special pre-professional advisors guide students pursuing careers in medicine or law, and even offer early acceptance into Tulane's medical school. Integrated graduate and professional studies help students obtain bachelor's and master's degrees in only five years. And for those looking for an unconventional course of study, interdisciplinary and joint-degree programs, as well as self-designed majors, are also available.
Recognizing that active civic engagement builds strong, healthy communities and responsible citizens, Tulane also requires students to engage in public service. Students immerse themselves in projects that they find interesting and provide real-world experiences that often help them when applying for jobs or grad/prof schools. From local to international, our students are learning to participate more fully in today's complex society in intellectually rigorous ways.
To promote interdisciplinary scholarship, all undergraduates participate in a TIDES seminar in their first year. These interdisciplinary courses bring together small groups of students and faculty to explore significant issues from multiple perspectives.
In addition, Tulane’s unique research, arts and cultural institutes offer opportunities for scholarship and research that can be found nowhere else.
