A NOTE FROM PRESIDENT COWEN
As a father of four, I understand the hopes, dreams, and uncertainties that accompany the college selection process. You want your son or daughter to make the perfect choice–one that is a good fit and with which you feel a sense of comfort. To minimize the uncertainty, you need accurate information on which to base your decision.
In this post-Katrina era, with its conflicting reports and misperceptions, it’s only natural for you to ask, “Why Tulane?” If you believe, as I do, that the two greatest gifts we can give our children are a first-class education and a desire to make a difference in the world, the answer will be clear. Tulane’s dedicated and talented faculty will provide your child an education second to none. And your son or daughter will have the opportunity to participate in the greatest recovery effort in any American city in more than a century. This combination will be a powerful catalyst for your child’s personal growth and development.
But don’t take my word alone. As you scan these pages, note what some parents of current Tulane students–and students themselves–have to say about their experience. Come visit the campus and experience the city and our university for yourself.
